“Every child deserves a little Christmas” since 1948.
In 1947 a USMC Reserve officer realized the need for gifts for less fortunate children in Los Angeles, California.
In 1948 the Commandant of the United States Marines ordered that the Marine Corps Reserves would from that point forward operate a program to provide toys to children at Christmas.
Walt Disney designed the famous train for which has become a beacon of light and hope for so many at Christmas.
The Marine Corps League of Central Oregon brings the joy of Christmas to less fortunate children through it annual Toys for Tots campaign.
The 2014 campaign provided for over 9000 toys to be in the hands of 5000 + children on Christmas morning in Deschutes, Crook, Jefferson, Harney and No. Klamath counties.
We have been participating in this wonderful program which helps families in Central Oregon for seven years.
It is important for us to be a part of the community, whether that is helping people find the right home or helping them celebrate the holidays.
When you drop off your toy at our office, they are picked up by a group of volunteers working alongside the Marine Corps.
Your gift is then taken to a facility where parents pick out the one that is just right for their child (which is why it is important for them to be unwrapped when donated).
Once picked, each is wrapped and brought home and lovingly placed under the tree, ready to be opened on Christmas morning!
