Forest Service Closes Cultus Lake Campgrounds

For the public’s safety the Forest Service has closed Cultus Lake Campgrounds and day use area because of a number of dead and diseased trees which could topple in a wind storm.

The predominant disease is called Indian Brush, a fungus that rots the trees from the inside out giving the trees a healthy appearance to the untrained eye.

To complicate matters further logging the trees could have a possible impact on the spotted owl so the entire process could be delayed.

The good news is the public boat ramp will be open mid June and Cultus Lake Resort will also be open for the season. Personally, one of our favorite places stay and play.
